July 29, 2013 Wow, it has been over two years since I last wrote a post! I never really was a "diary" kind of person, so I guess blogging just hasn't been my thing. Plus, in the last two years, Bob and I started our business: GameTruck of Las Vegas. The business is slowly building and keeps us busy on most weekends. You can check out the GameTruck of Las Vegas blog at http://gametruckoflasvegas.blogspot.com and visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/GameTruck-of-Las-Vegas/174534609268216. During the last two years I also started teaching sewing lessons in the evenings at the local Jo-Ann store (on Marks Street in Henderson). It's a little extra money (although not as much as I'd hoped it would be). However, it means that I've started sewing again (which I really enjoy)! I produce the samples of projects the current classes will teach and the samples hang on the classroom wall in the Jo-Ann store through the duration of those classes. Since I buy the material used to make the projects, I keep them when they are no longer needed. As a result, I now have quite a collection of samples that I do not need and can't really use myself! Here are some examples:
This is a tote bag made of denim and lined with blue cotton fabric. It has one interior pocket.
Here's a clutch purse made of pleather.
Christmas stockings in two different sizes.
Pillow
Large, very soft and snuggly puppy pillow
Earth pillow -- hand-sewn felt on fleece and tied around a pillow form
Adult's apron
Child's skirt
Infinity scarf
Adult skirt with exposed zipper
Child's safari hat sewing kit
Dog collar, leash, and bag holder for spare poopy bags
Two dog collars now owned and modeled by the Lab ladies below:
Ok, that's enough sharing for now! Believe it or not, there are many more sewing projects that I could share, but this post is long enough! Bob and I are planning a yard sale next weekend. If I can't sell these for reasonable prices, they start going up on my Etsy page (which is currently blank)!

July 15, 2011

Wow!  Halfway through July already!  The six-week summer class I've been taking ends today, so I'll finally have time for a true vacation -- and some more crafting!  Here are some things I've created so far (I promise not to post my 28-page term paper, though -- LOL!):

A baby blanket for my daughter's friend
Red rose
 White rose
 Deep pink rose
And, just finished today, a lavender rose!

I can't wait to really devote some time to crafting!  I have another baby blanket to start, and I want to try my hand at making some jewelry with crocheted wire and beads.  Of course, there are things to do around the house, too, that I really need to accomplish before summer ends and school begins.  Away I go!
